Have you ever wondered what it would be like to start a company as a full-time student? Well, our amazing Co-Founding team has done just that! Our CEO, Haley, recently wrote an article for Cal Poly Magazine about her experience as a student entrepreneur, and we’d love to have you check it out! Read the article and see the video of Haley’s first elevator pitch (the one that started at all!) HERE!
After several applications and interviews, we are so excited to announce three new additions to the Pashion team! These girl bosses truly impressed us and we know you will all love them just as much!
Skylar Crumbley is a fourth year business major at Cal Poly with a concentration in marketing, and she has a double minor in psychology and integrated marketing communications. She has been hired to take charge of our marketing department. Skylar says, “I’m so excited to be on this team and see Pashion flourish.”
Shae Langley is also a fourth year business major at Cal Poly, and she is concentrating in finance. She has a minor in Spanish (olé!) and plays rugby! Shae has been hired on to take care of the company’s finances. She says she is looking forward to watching Pashion grow and is happy to be working with an amazing group of people.
Jenna Nulty is a fourth year at Cal Poly majoring in graphic communications with a concentration in design reproduction technology and a minor in psychology. Jenna will be in charge of Pashion’s web, package, and graphic design. She is most excited to help change the footwear industry and learn as much as possible.
We are so fortunate to have such hard working and impressive ladies on this team! We can’t wait to see what they will accomplish. Welcome aboard Pashionistas!
One year ago on October 4th, our CEO Haley pitched her idea for an adaptable high heel for the first time in order to become an official Cal Poly Hatchery Company. Armed with packets of research on the market and concept, she was accepted on the spot. In the 365 days since, the team of one has grown to a dynamic C Corporation comprised of 10 hard-working innovators, with a patent-pending technology and badass wearable prototype ready to take into a Series A financing round. We can’t wait to see what the next year will bring!

On September 8th, our Founder and CEO, Haley Pavone, presented the Pashion Footwear product and business model live for the first time. Pitching to a room full of 300 potential investors, it was an incredible opportunity to spread word of Pashion like never before.
The pitch went of without a hitch, including a first peek at some of our launch designs and adaptable technology, as well as a surprise wearable prototype demo! Having only received the 3D-printed wearable prototypes 48 hours before, Pavone daringly wore them out on stage…where they performed perfectly and earned Pashion a standing ovation from the crowd. It was a true testament to Pashion’s technical design execution to have a wearable model hold up for a ten minute pitch even in the entirely wrong materials!
We were able to formally announce the beginning of our first fundraising round, network with several investors, and have a simply fantastic time. Just a little under a year into this company, we know that Demo Day was a major stepping stone for us into the much larger future for Pashion Footwear.
You can check out the full video of the presentation HERE.
Be sure to stay tuned for updates on our launch, and follow along with our story both here and on social media!
Last week the Pashion team was excited to take off on our first business trip – four days in the shoe capital of the west coast, Portland, Oregon! We were able to attend the annual Shoe Materials Show to begin our research on potential suppliers and logistics managers. We also got to finally meet face-to-face with our development & production partners, PDX Industrial Design Collaborations and Nine Concept Creation. They were able to provide us with the first wearable prototype for feedback, as well as timeline out Pashion’s path to launch in the Spring of 2019! We know that together, we will be able to get the best possible convertible heels out and on your feet.
On September 8th, Pashion Footwear and the other six amazing startups in the SLO Hot House Summer Accelerator program will be pitching their full business plans live for the first time. As some of the first followers of the Pashion Footwear journey, we wanted to get the invite out to you first! If you’ll be in the San Luis Obispo area in September and want to see our CEO Haley talk all things Pashion, please RSVP to the event here.
Also, feel free to check out this quick AcceleratorMinute video created by the Cal Poly Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship! We cannot speak highly enough of this program and all that it has done for us.
We at Pashion Footwear are excited to finally release the new look for our brand! Combining a classic, stylish font spread with modern bold pops of teal and purple, we believe this new look really captures what the Pashion brand is all about – style with an attitude.
Thank you to Kiosk Creative LLC for their work with us on developing this new brand feel and the imagery that captures it all!
Pashion Footwear is extremely excited to announce that we are officially patent pending on our innovative adaptable shoe design! This gives us the protection necessary to start setting up our initial manufacturing contracts, and get our sample run of high heels made.
We’d like to thank the Fitch Even legal firm for their assistance with this objective. Patent pending status means a lot for us, and we can’t wait to tackle the next step in this process!

Pashion Footwear is so excited to finally be settled into the 2017 SLO Hot House Accelerator Program! The resources and mentorship that this program will provide will be essential as we continue on in our development process. Our main goals for the summer are to obtain our provisional utility patent (so we can finally fill all of you in on our innovative design!) and to locate our manufacturer. We look forward to keeping you updated on our progress as we continue to navigate through the challenging, but energizing process of running a new startup! Be sure to sign up for updates on our expected launch date, so you can be amongst the first #pashionistas.
Our CEO & CTO had a lot of fun last week being interviewed live on air with Cal Poly KCPR Radio! We are very excited by the positive press Pashion has been getting in the San Luis Obispo area, and honored that KCPR wanted to reach out and do a feature on our startup. Check out our interview below:
