Meet Some of Our Major #WCWs

By Justyn Wolf

Female founders around the globe are shaping the path for other women who are beginning to embark on their startup journey. We wanted to share three of our favorite, inspirational women with you today who have been helping to lead the way for future females in business. We look up to these impactful women because they embody tenacity, endless dedication, and they are also fabulous founders! These women have taken the steps necessary to bring an idea to reality, create products that are truly by women for women, and continue to use their company to help, support, and guide women to their achievements and dreams. Here are our three favorite role-models:

Sandra Dudum

Our first idol, Sandra Dudum is one of the incredible women who founded Vici, a fashion company, in 2012. Dudum had a goal of starting a company that could empower women to feel and look their best with a primary focus on creating pieces of clothing that were affordable, versatile, and stylish for all ages and lifestyles. Vici is now a highly successful company and ships their clothing worldwide and has already opened up three brick-and-mortar stores!

Tori Burch
Our next favorite founder is successful designer and businesswoman, Tori Burch. Burch founded her brand in 2004, five years later in 2009, she launched the Tori Burch Foundation as a way to empower and guide female entrepreneurs along their path to success. Burch has partnered with banks to help offer affordable loans and is helping to provide business education to women through their partnership with Goldman Sachs’s 10,000 Small Businesses and Babson College. The foundation also offers mentors to help navigate women through their experiences, hold competitions for business education grants, and offer investments for these women's startups.
Sara Blakely
Our final woman crush is Sara Blakely. Blakley founded Spanx after a fashion frustration; she was hoping to wear fitted white pants to a party, but they didn't have that sleek and smooth look she was hoping for. She thought fast and reached for her pantyhose, cut the feet off, then layered them under her pants. Boom! A fashion miracle! Sara has since built her brand up and has a full line of accessories, workout wear, undergarments, and even menswear to help combat those common, frustrating wardrobe malfunctions. In 2006, Sara founded the Spanx by Sara Blakely Foundation and continues to inspire women through entrepreneurship and art, while educating them, and raising money to donate millions to charities that support women.

There you have it! These are three of our favorite female founders who are helping to pave the way for other women around the globe. We cannot wait to see what the future of female founders holds and who else will continue to set this remarkable example. Let us know who inspires you!

XOXO,
Justyn Wolf
